Eregalerij 2005 - Foto 59 Op donderdagavond 10 januari, iets voor 8, kreeg ik een sms van Sylvain Vanholme. Er stond letterlijk : “Freddy ns a quitte…”. Eerst dacht ik dat ik een verkeerd smsje kreeg. Maar toen herkende ik het nummer… Ik moest even slikken. Het deed me wel iets. Freddy Nieuland was de drummer en zanger van the Wallace Collection. In 2005 werd de superhit Daydream opgenomen in de Eregalerij van Radio 2. Ik had er toen voor gezorgd dat de groep na méér dan 30 jaar weer samenkwam om die superhit live te spelen. En ook hun Australische producer David Mackay kwam speciaal naar het Kursaal in Oostende afgezakt om hen te verrassen. Het werd een onvergetelijke avond met een mooie vriendschap…
